Tim Murphy told Board Members about an Herbicide Action course offered by Purdue University, taught by David Bridges. Murphy reported the three-day course focuses on brush and ROW Management, and is geared toward supervisors. Tim Beale suggested sponsoring the course prior to the 2003 GVMA Conference.

Dan McMillan reported UAP Timberland’s one-day ROW School (in conjunction with Virginia Electric Utilities) was a success.

Ray Dorsey reported on issues concerning the DOT ROW Vegetation Management Policy:
· Specify spot treatment applications for restricted use herbicides
· Selected treatment only; no broadcast applications for restricted use herbicides
· 48-hour notification
· Under 45 feet; no mitigation plans required, just annual schedule
· Spot applications should be narrowed down to specifics and reported

Ray Dorsey plans to send an e-mail to address questions and ambiguities, and a list of herbicides/active ingredients.

The next Board of Directors Meeting will be the Business Meeting at 2002 GVMA Conference in Savannah, April 12, 2002, at 11:45 AM.
