Tim Murphy, John Raese, Steve Stewart, Don Wardlaw (guest), William
White, Gary Youngblood
2005 Conference Registration Update
Dan McMillan reported approximately 30 member and 10 exhibitor registrations
to date.
BASF will distribute conference information at the ISA Annual Meeting.
Dan McMillan will give Doug Jones and Steve Stewart the number people
registered for exams.
Golf and Spouse Program
William White confirmed golf tournament arrangements.
Action Item: William White will purchase AMEX Certificates for golf
awards.
Mark Heffley confirmed arrangements for spouse program and reported
hotel requires a minimum of seven participants.
2005
Conference Speaker Update
Board Members discussed possible topics/speakers to substitute for
EMC Vegetation Management Update.
John Raese reported only two speakers require travel expenses.
Mark Heffley requested speaker bios for Don Garner and Angie Whatley.
Action Item: Dan McMillan will purchase $100 AMEX gift certificates
for speaker honorariums.
John Raese reported he submitted Rise Membership Application. Rise
will invoice GMVA for the $1000 fee, which includes 2-year membership,
quarterly publications, and speakers for 2005 and 2006 conference.
2005 Conference Administration
Beth Murdock and Naomi Toole will complete name badges and registration
packets for conference participants.
Tim Murphy suggested awarding door
prizes at Low Country Boil.
Tim Beale made a motion to award grand prize at the end of the conference,
and to award door prizes at dinner. GVMA will provide tickets for
door prizes and grand prize to participants. Werner Kralick seconded
the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Action Item: John Raese will notify vendors/exhibitors
regarding door prizes.
Ray Dorsey will bring a data projector.
John Raese will bring a slide projector if hotel does not have one
available.
2005 Conference
Dinner
Tim Beale reported caterer confirmed for Low Country Boil Dinner
at South Dunes Picnic Area, $15 per person. GVMA will provide garbage
bags.
Tent available for $500 - 24-hour notice required.
John Raese reported Board Member Dinner will be April 6, 7:00 PM
at Latitudes Restraint.
2005 Conference
Field Tour
Action Item: Mark Dennis will provide drinks for field
tour.
Donation to 4-H presented by John Raese and Werner Kralick.
2005-2006 GVMA
Officers
Mark Heffley nominated William White for Vice President. Ray Dorsey
seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. William White accepted
Vice President position.
John Raese made a motion nominate Jerry McGukin to fill contractor
vacancy.
Werner Kralick seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Jerry
McGukin accepted Board Member position.
John Raese made a motion to nominate Ronald Harris to fill DOT vacancy.
Werner Kralick seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Ronald
Harris accepted Board Member position.
Action Item: John Raese will review GVMA By-laws to ensure
Board Member categories are being filled correctly.
2006 GVMA Conference
– Calloway Gardens
Werner Kralick proposed the following dates for conference:
April 19, 20, 21
April 26, 27, 28
May 3, 4, 5
May 10, 11, 12
Werner Kralick will check to see if all dates are still available
and report back to Board Members.
