Board of Directors Meeting
Wednesday,
April 30, 2003
Brasstown Valley Resort
Young Harris, Georgia 30582
8:30 P.M.
In attendance: Tim Beale, Mark Dennis, Ricky Dockery, Ray Dorsey,
Jimmy Etheridge, Mark Heffley, Werner Kralick, Jerry McGukin, Dan
McMillan, Dr. Tim Murphy, John Raese, Gary B. Rogers, Darrell W.
Russell, and Gary Youngblood.
Ray Dorsey called the “brief” meeting to order with
discussions regarding the selection list for presentation during
the business secession 11:31 a.m., Friday, 02-May-2003:
• Ray re-affirmed Darrell W. Russell as the incoming GVMA
President for 2003-2004 term.
• Ray asked Dan McMillan, current treasure, and Gary Burton
Rogers, current secretary, if they would continue in these positions
for another year. They both agreed and were affirmed by the above
board members present.
• The office of Vice President was then opened for discussion.
John Raese was nominated. An effort to select John by acclamation
was interrupted by a suggestion from John. John’s suggestion
was that he would accept the nomination if Mark Heffley was selected
as 2nd Vice President which would help maintain organizational continuity
over the next three years.
• Werner Kralick turned the suggestion into a motion on John
Raese’s nomination for VP with Mark Heffley as 2nd VP. The
motion was second by Dr. Tim Murphy. The Motion was carried by all
board members present.
• The following list was presented during the 02-May-2003
GVMA Business Meeting:
- Darrell W. Russell, GVMA 2003-2004 President.
- John Raese, GVMA 2003-2004 1st Vice President.
- Mark Heffley, GVMA 2003-2004 2nd Vice President.
- Dan McMillan, GVMA 2003-2004 Treasurer.
- Gary Burton Rogers, GVMA 2003-2004 Secretary.
• The new officers’ list was presented to the GVMA Membership;
and selected by acclamation!
• President Ray Dorsey announced that the GVMA-04 meeting
dates would be 28 – 30 April 2004 at Calloway Gardens - Pine
Mountain, Georgia.
• President Ray Dorsey then proceeded with the installation
of GVMA’s new President, Darrell W. Russell.
• Darrell’s first action as new president was to present
Past-President Ray Dorsey a plaque for a “job well done”!
• A motion was made from the membership to adjourn. Meeting
was adjourned.
The next GVMA Board of Directors Meeting was scheduled after the
general session adjourned for late July or August 2003. Board members
would be contacted by e-mail &/or phone regarding date and time
at ECTC, Smarr, GA.
